Round Table Discussion
An exchange of views on academic-practitioner collaborations with the objective of designing a blueprint for successful partnerships. A panel of academics and practitioners with extensive experience in collaboration will give brief introductions, and then invite the audience to ask questions and share their own views and experience.
Two sessions are planned:
i) Dr Stephen Lorrimer, Head of Analytical Services (Finance) & Head of Operational Research, NHS England, will chair the first session, focusing on expectations from both sides and potential challenges.
ii) Prof Richard Eglese, Lancaster University, and a leading figure in the UK’s ground-breaking LANCS research initiative, will chair the second session, exploring what can be done to boost collaboration including building research capacity in O.R. and possible structures to support better interaction.
